about

William Drury - AKA the Demon Drummer of Tidworth

In 1661, John Mompesson, a magistrate in Tidworth England confiscated the drum of a vagrant musician William Drury. What happened next would lead to king Charles II appointing a royal commission to investigate.

Drury’s drum ended up at Mompesson’s house. While Drury was in jail, according to another inmate he said, ‘I have plagued him and he shall never be quiet, till he hath made me satisfaction for taking away my drum.’

The magistrate his wife, children and other witnesses heard pounding and drumming in their house as well as other poltergeist-type activity.

Drury was convicted of witchcraft and exiled. The disturbances ceased while he was out of the country but resumed when he returned, for several years.

Foglings Maryland

What are foglings? No one knows for sure. They've been seen fleetingly for centuries that we know of. Blamed for actions good, bad, or mischievous, are they supernatural, extraterrestrial, something we have not yet imagined?
